Yes. All scripts on StarPitchers or submitted to pitching opportunities must be registered through the US Copyright Office, WGA, or (if not based in the US) your national copyright office.

8. What scripts can I add to StarPitchers?

Features and teleplays (including MOWs, miniseries, and other TV styles) can be added to your Script Library.

9. What is the Script Library?

The Script Library is where you can store your scripts and easily email them using our Share Tracker feature. There is no cost to add scripts to your library or use Script Tracker. With an StarPitchers Pro membership, you can make one or more scripts visible so that they can be found by our vetted network of filmmakers.

10. What is Share Tracker?

Share Tracker is a free feature that allows you to easily query your scripts in your Script Library, via email, with others and track when a person views your work. You'll also have the option of sending only your logline and synopsis if you want to limit access to your script. In that case, prospective readers would need to email you for your script.

11. What's the difference between adding a script and making it visible?

Anyone can add feature or TV scripts into their Script Library, and you can add as many as you like.

Visible scripts are searchable to our network of filmmakers and reps. This feature is exclusive with StarPitchers Pro.

12. What is the Pitch to Page Contest?

The Pitch to Page Contest is exclusively for StarPitchers Pro members. Our contest is held every few months. Writers can submit one title to a contest. Submissions are judged on multiple aspects including the logline, the synopsis, and the script. Prize packages may vary from contest to contest.

13. What is StarPitcher's Pitch Kit?

Our free Pitch Kit provides you with all the templates you need to elevate your pitching, including query letter, logline, and synopsis templates.

Only StarPitchers Pro members have access to the Agents & Managers feature in the Pitch Kit.

Only filmmakers and reps who have registered and been vetted by us are allowed to read scripts. Other StarPitchers writers cannot read your scripts unless you share it with them directly.

18. How can I guarantee that my idea won't be stolen?

Copyrighting your script gives you some legal protection, and that's why we require registration for all scripts on our site.

19. What is StarPitcher's policy on AI-generated scripts and films?

StarPitchers does not accept AI-written scripts. We ask that writers refrain from submitting or sharing scripts generated by AI systems.

Similarly, StarPitchers does not currently recognize AI-generated films as valid industry credits for access to our password-protected areas. Producers are also not permitted to source scripts intended for AI-generated films through our platform.

While we do our best to verify all industry professionals and credits, we acknowledge that human error is possible and encourage writers to remain vigilant. As the relationship between the industry and AI continues to evolve, we will re-evaluate and update our policy as needed.
